Game Of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers: Jaime Lannister To Kill The Night King? Here’s How
Game of Thrones season eight isn’t too far off now, and viewers are desperate to know what will happen next.
They’re so desperate in fact, they’ve started coming up with their fan theories.
One such theory involves Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who might end up being vital in how the whole series ends.
A fan posted their theory on Reddit in which they discuss the Kingslayer’s potential story arc.
“Throughout the entire series Jaime has been defined by his past; he is the Kingslayer,” began Ajdietrick3 on Reddit.
They continued: “Jaime was one of the greatest swordsmen of his time when he had his right hand, and that was the hand that made him who he was.”
The fan then made an interesting comment about how having his right hand severed off started a new story arc for the character.
“When Locke cut off that hand, Jaime’s right hand arc ended and his left hand arc began,” wrote Ajdietrick3.
The Reddit user then went into their prediction for Jaime’s future.
“My prediction is what a better way to redefine yourself and kill the Kingslayer name that has lived with him since he was a boy, than to become the Kingslayer; the Night Kingslayer,” they said.
They continued: “Jaime will sacrifice himself to kill the Night King, completing his left hand arc and writing his name in history.”
The Night King is going to be the biggest threat in season eight.
He and his army of White Walkers are heading to King’s Landing and will require all the kingdoms to come together in order to stop them.
Jon Snow (Kit Harington) has already tried to convince Cersei to join him and Daenerys Targaryen in their battle against the Night King.
However, things are looking a little bit desperate after Jon opted not to bend the knee.
Jon had already bent the knee to Daenerys, and he’s a man of his word.
Jaime could prove to be a key player in ensuring Cersei sees the threat of the White Walkers.
He knows they’re a threat that needs to be stopped and might be able to convince her to change her mind and help Jon and Daenerys in their fight against the Night King.
There are some rumours he might even be forced to kill his sister for the greater good.
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
